23.04.2010 Celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Roerich Pact on the juridical faculty of the Saint-Petersburg University

This year the world community celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Roerich Pact known in the world as the first International Treaty on protection for historic monuments, museums, scientific, artistic, educational and cultural institutions. The Treaty was signed on April 15, 1935 in Washington by the representatives of 21 nations of North and South Americas at presence of the US President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

On April 15, 2010 the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Roerich Pact - the first International Treaty on protection for historic monuments, museums, scientific, artistic, educational and cultural institutions — was held in Bulgaria.


15.04.2010 The March of the Peace and the 75 anniversary of the Roerich Pact in Spain

Owing to 75 Anniversary of the Roerich Pact, there has been celebrated in Madrid (Spain), from the 5th until April 14, a Photographic Exhibition that shows the history of the Roerich Pact and the Peace Banner. Also, there were 15 reproductions of the paintings by Nicholas Roerich, from the Museum Roerich of Spain.


09.04.2010 Exhibition «75 years of the Roerich Pact» continues its route in Mexican States

On March 19, 2010 the photo exhibition «75 years of the Roerich Pact» was opened in Bernal, Queretaro. The opening of the exhibition was timed to the celebration of the 24th anniversary of the International Committee of the Banner of Peace headed by Mrs Alicia Rodriguez. At the opening of the exhibition the Banner of Peace was presented to representatives of the Government of Queretaro. Around 45000 people took place in the ceremony dedicated to the Banner of Peace, including students of schools and universities as well as representatives of cultural organizations. Upon completion of the solemn part of the ceremony participants formed a column, which stretches to the top of Pena de Bernal mountain, where the Banner of Peace was set to the accompaniment of «Oda de la Alegria» by Beethoven.


06.04.2010 International conference in Vienna dedicated to preservation of cultural heritage.


On April 6 in the International Vienna Center UNO-City the opening of the International conference dedicated to preservation of cultural heritage «Archaeology in Conflict» took place. The central event of the conference was celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Roerich Pact.


30.03.2010 Photo exhibition dedicated to the 75th Anniversary of the Roerich Pact in Crimea


The exhibition in Crimea was dedicated to the history of the Roerich Pact — the International Treaty on protection for historic monuments, museums, scientific, artistic, educational and cultural institutions — which became the basis for the worldwide protection of cultural values during war time and social conflicts. The exhibition includes photos, historical documents, posters, post stamps and other exhibits.


23.03.2010 А photo exhibition "75 years of the Roerich Pact" in Mexico

In one of the most beautiful places of Morelia City Michoacán, Mexico, a photo exhibition was opened which is a joint project of the International Centre of the Roerichs (Moscow) and the International Committee of the Banner of Peace.
The opening of the exhibition, whose organization was appreciated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Mexico, was attended by prominent figures of culture and leadership of the city. Welcoming speech to the guests and visitors was made by Secretary of State Committee for Tourism Dr. Dzhinovivo Figuera.
President of the International Committee of the Banner of Peace Dr. Alicia Rodriguez cut the red ribbon symbolizing the official opening of the exhibition and invited the participants to get acquainted with the unique materials, which tells about the history of the Roerich Pact and Banner of Peace.
Responding to numerous questions of journalists present at the ceremony, representatives of the International Committee of the Banner of Peace informed that the opening of the photo exhibition is timed well to the 15th anniversary of the establishment of Michoacán branch of the International Committee of the Banner of Peace.


22.03.2010 «Nicholas Roerich: Eternal Quest»: an exhibition in the National Gallery of Modern Art (New Delhi)


Government of India celebrates Indo-Russian Cultural Relations by commemorating the State Visit of H.E. Mr. Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation to India with an exhibition «Nicholas Roerich: Eternal Quest» which is the joint project of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in India, the International Centre of the Roerichs (Moscow) and the National Gallery of Modern Art (New Delhi). Works of the great Master collected from the International Centre of the Roerichs (Moscow) and some leading museums of India.


16.02.2010 Exhibition dedicated to the creative activity of Helena Roerich in Sophia

The Exhibition of documents dedicated to Helena Ivanovna Roerich's creativity started in Cyril and Methodius National Library, Sofia (Bulgaria). The exhibition was organized to observe the 75th anniversary of the Roerich Pact — the first International Treaty on protection for historic monuments, museums, scientific, artistic, educational and cultural institutions.

Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Banner of Peace and the Roerich PactIn 2010 many people all over the world will celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Banner of Peace and the Roerich Pact.
In Mexico thanks to the efforts of many collaborators and first of all the General coordinator of the International Committee of the Banner of Peace madam Pilar Gallego, the festive events have already started. Her enthusiasm made it possible to realize the idea of a memorial exhibition.
