Honorable Vaskaduve Mahindavansa Maha Nayaka Tero, Head of the Buddhist School Amarapura in Sri-Lanka, Prior of the Radjaguru Sri Subhuti Maha Viharayana and Dipaduttamarama Tai Rajamaha Viharaya, Keeper of the true relics of Buddha Shakyamuni, visited the International Centre of the Roerichs in Moscow.

26.08.2010 The collection of papers «The Central-Asian expedition of Nicholas Roerich. 1923-1928» was published in Bulgaria

The Collection of papers presented at the Scientific and Social Conference held at the Sofia University on October 23, 2009, was published by the Bulgarian Centre for Cosmic Thinking Problems, National Roerich Society — Bulgarian Branch of the ICR, Center for Eastern Languages and Cultures of Sofia University «St. Kliment Ohridski». The collection includes reportes by Ms L. Shaposhnikova, First vice-president of the ICR and Director General of the Museum by name of Nicholas Roerich (Moscow), scientists of the Center for Eastern Languages and Cultures and the Faculty of Geology and Geography of Sofia University, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the Panch Vladigerov National Academy of Music, Mining and Geology University, and National Roerich Society — Bulgarian Branch of the ICR.

29.07.2010 The International Centre of the Roerichs in the People's Republic of China

Professor V.V. Frolov, Deputy Director General of the Museum by name of Nicholas Roerich, Head of the USC CT of the ICR, visited the People's Republic of China as a member of the delegation of the International Public Movement Estern Dimension.

Professional activity of Ms Shaposhnikova, First vice-president of the International Centre of the Roerichs, Director General of the Museum by name of Nicholas Roerich was highly appreciated in Europe. She was named the winner of the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage in the category «Dedicated Service».

21.06.2010 Exhibition in the Russian House of Culture and Science in Berlin «The Roerich Pact. 75 years for Protection of Culture and Peace-Building».

This year humanity celebrates 75th anniversary of the Roerich Pact — the first international treaty for unconditional protection of artistic and scientific institutions and historical monuments and their personnel in war time as well as in time of peace. This historical document based on principles of humanism and creativity became the basis for the international legal system for protection of cultural values.

23.04.2010 Celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Roerich Pact on the juridical faculty of the Saint-Petersburg University

This year the world community celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Roerich Pact known in the world as the first International Treaty on protection for historic monuments, museums, scientific, artistic, educational and cultural institutions. The Treaty was signed on April 15, 1935 in Washington by the representatives of 21 nations of North and South Americas at presence of the US President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

On April 15, 2010 the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Roerich Pact - the first International Treaty on protection for historic monuments, museums, scientific, artistic, educational and cultural institutions — was held in Bulgaria.

15.04.2010 The March of the Peace and the 75 anniversary of the Roerich Pact in Spain

Owing to 75 Anniversary of the Roerich Pact, there has been celebrated in Madrid (Spain), from the 5th until April 14, a Photographic Exhibition that shows the history of the Roerich Pact and the Peace Banner. Also, there were 15 reproductions of the paintings by Nicholas Roerich, from the Museum Roerich of Spain.

09.04.2010 Exhibition «75 years of the Roerich Pact» continues its route in Mexican States

On March 19, 2010 the photo exhibition «75 years of the Roerich Pact» was opened in Bernal, Queretaro. The opening of the exhibition was timed to the celebration of the 24th anniversary of the International Committee of the Banner of Peace headed by Mrs Alicia Rodriguez. At the opening of the exhibition the Banner of Peace was presented to representatives of the Government of Queretaro. Around 45000 people took place in the ceremony dedicated to the Banner of Peace, including students of schools and universities as well as representatives of cultural organizations. Upon completion of the solemn part of the ceremony participants formed a column, which stretches to the top of Pena de Bernal mountain, where the Banner of Peace was set to the accompaniment of «Oda de la Alegria» by Beethoven.
