On measures to ensure the safety of
works by N.K. and S.N. Roerichs
(S.N.Roerich’s collection)
In order to ensure the safety of works by Nicholas and Svetoslav Roerichs (the owner is S.N. Roerich, India):
1. To the E. V. Vuchetich All-Union Art Production Association (c. Olinov A.Z.) to hand over them (282 units) to the State Museum of Oriental Art for temporary custody, arranging the handover with relevant documentation.
2. To the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Restoration (c. Gorin I.N.) in 10 days to create a commission to determine the safety of exhibits and the possibility of their further exposition.
3. In case the commission comes to the conclusion about the possibility of further collection exposition:
- to the State Museum of Oriental Art (c. Nabatchikov V.A.) with the
E. V. Vuchetich All-Union Art Production Association to develop an exhibition route in the cities of the USSR;
- to the E. V. Vuchetich All-Union Art Production Association (c. Olinov A.Z.) to include the exhibition of works by N.K. and S.N. Roerichs in the plan of domestic exhibition activity and provide funding for all production activities.
4. To entrust the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Restoration (c. Gorin I.N.) with the restoration oversight of the exhibition.
5. To task the Department of Fine Arts (c. Popov G.P.) with ensuring the implementation of this Order.
