130 since the birth of E.I.Roerich: Materials of the International socio-scientific conference. 2009. - The International Centre of The Roerichs, Moscow, Master-Bank, 2010 – 656 pp. (The Roerich popular science library)

This publication presents a collection of materials of the International socio-scientific conference. The conference was organized by the International Centre-Museum by name of N.K. Roerich, with the assistance of The United Scientific Centre of the Problems of the Cosmic Thinking, The Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, The Russian Academy of Cosmonautics named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky, The Institute of History of Science and Technology named after S.I. Vavilov of the Russian Academy of Sciences, The International Humanitarian Public Foundation "Knowledge" named after K.V.Frolov, The International League for the Protection of Culture, The International Association of the Peace Foundations, The Charitable Foundation by name of Helena Roerich. The conference was held with the support of the Documentation Centre of the UN in Moscow.

In spite of the fact that Helena Ivanovna left a huge amount of literary and scientific-philosophical works, her name was until recently practically unknown. Being not only a thinker and a scientist, but also a writer and a translator, she was in addition a brilliant specialist both in the ancient and modern philosophy, an art connoisseur who simultaneously had a wide knowledge of scientific problems and social life. The family that she created and the heart and core of which she was, represented a tight unit of like-minded persons that played a tremendous part in the emerging of the new planetary thinking and the new consciousness of the modern humanity.

Many of the thoughts that Helena Ivanovna Roerich expressed about the high destination of the man, about science and culture, about the fortunes of Russia and the whole world were ahead of their time and built a fire of yearning in the hearts of several generations of the truth-seekers who turn to her works searching for the answers for the most vibrant questions.

Her image that represents utter moral cleanness and exceptional spiritual perseverance, deep wisdom and higher love for people, still attracts many people. The participants of the conference, the materials of which are presented in this collection, have discussed a range of problems connected with the name and heritage of E.I.Roerich in the modern world, as well as with the comprehension of her creative work and evolutionary mission, the universal historical importance of the Living Ethics philosophy and the peculiarities of the new scientific world view which has evolved on its basis.

The conference took place in October 2009.
