This medal is given to the activists of Science and Culture who made a great contribution in the development of geo science.

The medal was handed by Yuri N. Malyshev, President of the Academy of Mining Sciences, Director of the Vernadsky State Geological Museum.

Lyudmila V. Shaposhnikova expressed her gratitude for the honorary award and presented to the Vernadsky State Geological Museum her book «The Master's Universe» which includes essays on the «Silver Age» philosophers and scientists – Tsiolkovsky, Chizhevsky, Florensky, Vernadsky – cosmic thinkers whose world view had much in common with that of Nicholas Roerich.

The second name of the Vernadsky State Geological Museum is the Earth History Museum. The Museum's exposition shows the history of our planet development, her organic and mineralogical components, as well as the role of the mankind in the cosmic aspect.
