The book «From Molotov to Lavrov. July Vorontsov's unwritten memoirs» by Gagik Karapetyan and Vladimir Grachev-Selich


On April 7, 2011 presentation of the book «From Molotov to Lavrov. July Vorontsov's unwritten memoirs» by Gagik Karapetyan and Vladimir Grachev-Selich was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation.

This new book published by the International Centre of the Roerichs represents the collection of rare materials – archive documents, personal records, thinking on politics and statesmen, and memories. The book introduces the brilliant professional activity of July M. Vorontsov as the representative of the Soviet, Russian and World diplomacy.

July M. Vorontsov is widely known not only as a brilliant diplomat but also as a major public figure. He was one of the founders of the Museum by name of Nicholas Roerich in Moscow and the President of the International Centre of Roerichs.

Mr Gennady M. Gatilov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, congratulated the authors of the book. He said that though the book consists of interviews and dialogues, it still gives us a comprehensive view of July M. Vorontsov diplomatic career.

Mr Karapetyan and Mr Grachev-Selich expressed their gratitude to all who helped in writing the book: Heads and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, members of July Vorontsov family. They also thanked Boris I. Bulochnik, Chairman of the Board of Master-Bank, and Sergey A. Anikin, Head of Publications Division of the International Centre of the Roerichs, for publication of the book.

In his speech Mr S. Anikin said that publication of this book was the matter of great importance for the International Centre of the Roerichs since every employee of the organisation remember and respect July M. Vorontsov.

Mr Pogos S. Akopov, Chairman of the Board of the Russian Diplomats Association awarded Gagik Karapetyan, Vladimir Grachev-Selich and Boris Bulochnik with diplomas for the great contribution to perpetuate the memory and creative heritage of the outstanding diplomat July M. Vorontsov and assistance in publishing of the book. On behalf of Russian Diplomats Association he also expressed his gratitude to Mr S. Anikin.

Valery P. Vorobyev, vice-rector of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations handed Mr Bulochnik Medal of Merit - the highest award of the Institute.
