The 5th China-Russia people-to-people friendly strategic dialogue

The 5th China-Russia people-to-people friendly strategic dialogue was held in State House «Diaoyutai» in Beijing on June 14th, 2011. The dialogue was focused on strategic problems.
The Chinese side being the organizer of the dialogue was represented by Chinese Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Russian side was represented by the International Social Movement “Eastern Dimension”. The meeting was opened by Hua Jianmin, the chairman of the China-Russia Friendship, Peace and Development Commission, vice chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, and by Mikhail Nikolaev, president of the Movement “Eastern Dimension”.

The 5th China-Russia dialogue took place 10 years after the signing of the treaty on China-Russia good-neighbor, friendly and cooperative relations and in the year of the 10th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The participants of the dialogue discussed issues relating to China-Russian strategic partnership and security cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as prospects of cooperation in economic, scientific and cultural spheres.
The 5th China-Russia strategic dialogue was attended by the Inernational Centre of the Roerichs, whose representative professor V.V. Frolov, doctor of philisophy, Deputy Director of Scientific Researches of Museum by name of N.K. Roerich, made a report on «Culture Development and Strengthening of International Security in the Modern World».
The meeting's participants stated that China-Russia dialogue plays a significant role in strengthening of friendship and collaboration between Russia and China. Participants also agreed to hold the 6th China-Russia strategic dialogue on the territory of Russia, in the capital of Sakha (Yakutia), Yakutsk.
