A joint delegation of the Committee for the Preservation of the Roerichs' Heritage and the International Centre of the Roerichs visited the UN Office at Geneva

On November 26-28, 2012 the delegation consisted of Mr. Alexander P. Losyukov, President of the Committee for the Preservation of the Roerichs' Heritage, Mr. Alexander V. Stetsenko, First Deputy Director General of tne Museum named after Nicholas Roerich, and Mrs Natalia N. Cherkashina, Deputy Director General of tne Museum named after Nicholas Roerich, visited the UN Office and Permanent Mission of Russia to the UN at Geneva in order to establish relations and broaden of cooperation.

The reception for the delegation was organised by Mr. K.G. Tokaev, Director of the UN Office at Geneva, Deputy Secretary General of UNO, who was handed a memorial medal "S.N. Roerich".

The issues of cooperation in the field of preservation of cultural heritage were discussed during the meeting. Mr. K.G. Tokaev pointed the importance of the ICR activity for popularization of the Roerich Pact and preservation of the Roerichs' Heritage.

During this visit the ICR delegation also met with Mr D.A. Chikvaidze, Director of the Library of the UN Office at Geneva. The ways of future cooperation between the ICR and the Committee on Culture of the UN Office at Geneva were outlined in this meeting. The ICR delegation presented the Catalog of the Museum named after Nicholas Roerich to the Library of the UN Office at Geneva.

Mr. V.V. Gratchev, Director of the Division of the UN Office Conference Management discussed with the delegation members the issues concerning the ICR activity connected with organisation of international conferences.

The prospects of the ICR development in the UNO were discussed with Mr. R. Espinosa, represantative of the Director General Executive Secretariat of the UN Office at Geneva.

The delegation members also met with Mr. A.N. Borodavkin, Permanent Delegate of Russia in the UN Office at Geneva and presented to him a memorial medal "S.N. Roerich".
