Between 12-13 April 2014 the First Public-Scientific Conference “The Kailas Phenomenon and its Role in Man's Evolutionary Development” took place in the International Centre of the Roerichs, Moscow. It is the first ever conference dedicated to the study of the Kailas Phenomenon. The Conference was organized by the International Centre of the Roerichs and the Kailas Phenomenon Research Group (Russia).

The Conference attempted to systematize the collected data connected with the Kailas phenomenon and exchange views on its role in man's evolution.

The Conference was attended by 420 scholars, pedagogs, culture figures and travellers from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Bulgaria, Brazil, Germany, India and China.

The introductory word was delivered by the President of the International Centre of the Roerichs, President of the International Roerichs^, Heritage Preservation Committee, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Alexander P. Losyukov and the head of the Kailas Phenomenon Research Group S. Balalayev. The participants of the conference presented sixteen papers that focused on the cultural-historical, mythological, semantic-symbolic, geographical and other issues connected with the Kailas and neighbouring regions. Among them were the papers by S. Balalayev, Candidate of physical-mathematical sciences (Voronezh), N. Lidova, Senior Research Fellow of the Institute of World Literature named after Gorky of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow), M. Chiriatyev, Vice-president of the League for the Protection of Culture (St. Petersburg), D. Yusov, Director of the Development Foundation of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (Moscow), Professor Zakharov, PhD, Medicine (Moscow), Arta Lama Rinpoche, Dzogchen Instructor, India etc.

The delegates exchanged their views of the conference and its results at the closing session chaired by Professor Frolov, PhD Philosophy, Head of the United Research Center of the Problems of Cosmic Thinking (ICR) and V. Sokolov Senior Research Fellow, United Research Center of the Problems of Cosmic Thinking (ICR).
