From June 18 to 21, 2022 the group painting exhibition by the artists from Indian state Punjab took place in the Modern Art Exhibition Hall of the International Roerich Memorial Trust. It was inaugurated by Ms. Meena Thakur, the member of the Vashisht District Council and Chief Guest of the event. She greeted Punjab guests and highly appreciated the artists’ talents, whose art works were presented in the exposition.

Mr. Chhabinder Thakur, the advocate, who was the Guest of Honour of the exhibition, stressed the necessity to preserve Indian culture and art and marked the artists’ priceless contribution in keeping artistic traditions.

Four artists participated in the exhibition: Manprit Kaur (Ludhiana), Harsha Verdhan (Jalandhar), Naveen Kumar (Hoshiarpur), and Babita (Jalandhar). About seventy paintings were presented in the exhibition, whose leading idea was love for nature. Himachal landscapes captured in different seasons and made mainly in the “wet water-colour” technique conquered the exhibition guests by soft colour fusions, airy depth of the space and by conveying a special atmosphere peculiar to Himalayan slopes and valleys.

Divine images and old temples naturally blended with the nature sceneries, spiritualizing the space and filling it with solemnity.

The paintings which pictured flowers added a special charm and fanciness to the exhibition. Flowers impact on people with their beauty, fragrance, subtle sounding, making consciousness more subtle. As it is said in the Living Ethics, or Agni-Yoga, “In flowers the Heaven settles down upon the Earth.”

The Indian IRMT Curator Mr. Suresh Kumar, the Russian IRMT Curator Mrs. Larisa Surgina and the Ex-curator Mr Ramesh Chandra expressed their sincere delight about the artists’ creativity and thanked them for that abundant beauty and consonance with Nature, which they full-heartedly shared with the exhibition guests.
