On September 16–18, the International Roerichs Memorial Trust hosted an exhibition of Indian paintings, organized by the “We” Art Group (Chandigarh, India) and headed by Sadna Sangar, a renowned artist, long-time friend of the IRMT.

Eminent poet and art critic Sri Prayag Shukla was the Chief guest of the exhibition. Indian and Russian curators of the Roerich Trust, Suresh Kumar and Larisa Surgina, welcomed the audience.

After the traditional lighting ceremony, the participants of the exhibition gave a tour to the guests. This time twelve artists presented their works to the viewers: Dr. Ram Viranjan (Kurukshetra), Randhir Singh Pathania (Kurukshetra), Biba Balwant (Gurdaspur), Dr. Lakshman Parsad (Delhi), Sabia Khan (Delhi), Suresh Chaudhary (Dharamsala), Rahul Ushara (Delhi), Richa Bharti Sharma (Chandigarh), Jagjit Singh (Kharar), Dr. Sarita Mehta (Panchkula), Gurinder Goldie (Mohali) and Sadna Sangar (Chandigarh).

The vivid pictorial images filled the space of the IRMT Exhibition Hall with warmth and beauty. Inspired by their travels in India, their reflections on life and their own spiritual insights, the artists' paintings revealed to visitors the beauty of nature and the human soul and the divine beauty of our world.

In addition to the exhibition, the artists organized a creative camp – the result of their trip to the ancient village of Rumsu were remarkable landscape sketches depicting mountain peaks and traditional houses, apple-studded trees and pretty children's faces.

“Let us strive for the Beautiful,” Svetoslav Roerich urged everyone. The words of the outstanding artist could become the motto of the exhibition and the artists’ camp, united by the title “Divine Strokes”.
