Exhibition of the "Studio Seven" association headed by Suresh Kumar


On June 7, an exhibition of paintings by contemporary Indian artists from the Studio Seven creative association, headed by the famous Delhi-based artist Mr. Suresh Kumar, opened in the Exhibition Hall of the International Roerich Memorial Trust.

The Chief guest at the inauguration was Ms. Sakshi Verma, Superintendent of Police, Distt. Kullu, HP. The guests were welcomed by Suresh Kumar, Indian Curator of IRMT, and Larisa Surgina, Russian Curator of IRMT, working for the Trust at the direction of the International Center of the Roerichs(Moscow). The guests solemnly lit the traditional lamp, wishing success to the artists and the exhibition.

Artists from different cities of India presented their works: Alphee Kumar, Dr. RekhaShirvastava, Dr. SonamSikarwar, Hansa Milan Kumar, Nilangee V. Prabhukeluskar, Poorrnima Sisodia, Sheha, Sharmila Sharma, Suresh Kumar, UshitaNenmal Jain. Working in different techniques and styles, the artists combine Indian traditions and the search for new ways in art.

After a tour of the exhibition, during which the authors talked about their works, Ms. Sakshi Verma expressed her sincere admiration for the breadth of themes and depth of meaning that the artists were trying to reflect in their works.

During the days of the exhibition, members of the Studio Seven creative association continued to paint and organized a kind of master class for all who were interested. At the end of the exhibition, the IRMT curators solemnly handed out certificates to the participants and invited them to visit the Roerichs' Estate more often. In their turn, the participants of the exhibition led by artist Suresh Kumar noted the amazing and inspiring atmosphere at the Roerich Trust - a special atmosphere of Russian-Indian friendship and hospitality, creativity and beauty.
