"Happiness" by Geetanjali Sharma at the International Roerich Memorial Trust

From May 11 to 14, 2024, the exhibition of Indian artist Geetanjali Sharma was inaugurated at the Exhibition Hall of the International Roerich Memorial Trust. The main guests of the exhibition opening ceremony were Larisa Surgina, Russian Curator working at the IRMT on the direction of the International Center of the Roerichs (Moscow), and Suresh Kumar, Indian Curator of the IRMT.

The honored guests of the exhibition were a large and friendly family of the novice artist. Geetanjali has no art background and started painting only two years ago in her spare time. She works for the Himachal Pradesh Hydro Power Company and currently resides in Manali. Her husband, parents and the family members have been fully supporting of Geetanjali's passion for painting, providing her with all the facilities she needs to create her art.

“Theme of my paintings is “Happiness,” says the artist. “My purpose is only to spread peace and happiness by my paintings. Nature is my source of inspiration. Every woman should work on their hobbies to avoid unnecessary stress and depression.”

Geetanjali Sharma expressed her gratitude to the Roerich Memorial Trust for giving her the opportunity to open the first exhibition of paintings in the artist's life. The curators of the IRMT, in their turn, wished Geetanjali creative success and inspiration.
