«Museum Night» in the International Centre of the Roerichs, Moscow

In the framework of the action the Museum by name of Nicholas Roerich for the second time hospitably opened its doors for admirers of the unique creativity of the Roerich family. Visitors could see the permanent exposition of the Museum in the halls where was an atmosphere of lively interest and aesthetic pleasure.

This year a festive concert «Museum Night - Non Stop» was prepared for the Museum visitors.

Reviving ancient folk traditions of the great Russian culture folk group «Bel Svet» directed by the artist Vladimir Platonov delighted the audience with ceremonial ringing of the calendar cycle of ancient Smolensk area. The audience heard the sound of ancient Russian musical instruments — Smolensk horn, duda, sopel, jew's harp, rubel, chesalo, kuviky and true Russian songs.

Ancient national costumes, polyphonic singing, original choreography organically combined with the Red Porch of the Lopukhin's Manson which served as a stage and scenery.

«Odissi Djivan Nritya» dance group introduced lovers of oriental culture with the art of one of the seven Indian classic dance styles — the style of Odissi. The founder of the group is Vitalina Lobach — well-known dancer and dance teacher.

Ensemble «Fermatissima» delighted the audience with rare compositions of Russian and European classical music. Compositions were performed by Konstantin Efimov (flute), Dmitry Aizenshtadt (clarinet), Maria Yurina (violin), Maxim Tarnorutsky (cello), Svetlana Tarnorutsky (piano).
