A documentary exhibition dedicated to Helena Roerich was opened in Vratsa, Bulgaria

Organizers of the exhibition: Town Council of Vratsa, Vratsa Regional History Museum, National Roerich Society — Bulgarian Branch of the ICR, Regional Library by name of Christo Botev, and Vratsa Regional State Archive.

At the exhibition opening ceremony doctor Kostadin Shahov, Mayor of Vratsa, emphasized that exposition reveals multifaceted character of Helena Roerich - the outstanding Russian philosopher, writer, and public promoter whose creative work organically connected with N. Roerich creativity. This wonderful woman was an example of spiritual perfection. Doctor Shahov noted also that the exhibition is the significant event in the cultural life of the city because it expanding the idea of protection of cultural heritage without national, geographic and political limitations.

The opening ceremony was held with supporting of the Embassy of India in Bulgaria. Mr I. Stoyanov, Director of Vratsa Regional Historical Museum and Ms Marga Koutsarova, President of the Bulgarian National Roerich Society addressed to the participants of the ceremony with welcoming speeches.

A welcome letter to the event was sent by Mr Todor Chobanov, Deputy Minister of Culture of Bulgaria. The letter stated that the idea of protection of cultural values which was laid as the basis for the Roerich Pact is one of the greatest ideas of the 20th century.

At the conclusion of the event guests were shown the documentary film by V. Shatin «Time to gather stones...», dedicated to the Roerich Pact and the Banner of Peace.
