The exhibition project “The Roerich Pact. History and Modernity” in Bonne, Germany

Solemn opening of the exhibition “The Roerich Pact. History and Modernity” took place in the City Museum of Bonne on April 14, 2015. The event is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of signing of the first international treaty on protection of the cultural heritage of humanity.

The exhibition is organized by the International Centre of the Roerichs (ICR) in conjunction with German Roerich Society and City Museum of Bonne. The exhibition project in Germany is held under the auspices of the German UNESCO office.

The exhibition was opened by Ms. Bodsh, the Director of the Bonne City Museum. On the solemn opening of the exhibition guests were greeted by the First Vice-President of the International Centre of the Roerichs, Director General of the Museum named after Nicholas Roerich L.V. Shaposhnikova.

Welcoming remarks to the organizers and participants of the exhibition were made by Vladimir A. Pyatin, Deputy Consul General of the Russian Federation in Bonne on political, public and cultural activity.

Exposition of the “Roerich Pact. History and Modernity” exhibition contains the detailed information on the origin of the unique treaty, reproductions of paintings of the Master, distinctive photos, documentary materials. Signing of the Roerich Pact became an outstanding and important event of the XX century in the sphere of international protection of the cultural heritage of humanity.
