Mexico — Life and Legends

The exhibition «Life and Legends» will be held in the International Centre of the Roerichs from July 22 to September 20, 2010.
The exposition represents modern art of Mexican people, as well as traditions and legends of ancient Mexico.
The central place of the exposition belongs to the handmade set of chess, made of silver and obsidian — magical volcanic stone. The unique exhibit weighs a ton and is a symbiosis of ancient traditions and mastery of modern Mexican artisans.
The exhibition also includes copies of artworks created by Maya and Aztecs, and paintings on silk which represent different cultures of Mexico.
The aim of organizers of the exhibition is to provide the most vivid and complete image of modern Mexico — the country of great cultural traditions of Maya, Aztecs and other people.
The organizer of the exhibition is «Mexican Club».
